Brand Strategy — The Foundations of all Do-Gooders.

‘It’s All About the Confidence!’, is the catch phrase from UK based fashion consultant Gok Wan, and he isn’t wrong…

When leading an organization you need confidence in spades — sometimes it’s genuine and sometimes it’s the old “fake-it-til-you-make-it” kind of confidence.

At Sunday Roast we want to give you some of that REAL confidence to make solid decisions to make the most of every action. Where’s the first place to look? Your... brand strategy?

A good brand strategy answers the meaty questions:

  • Why do we exist?

  • Who are we for?

  • How are we different?

They seem easy to answer, but trust us, they’re head scratchers but they’re worth taking the time to answer.

Once you have the answers to these three questions it’s like the red pill in the matrix, once you answer them, you’re free! They accelerate every existential decision you’ll inevitably need to make for your brand in the future.

Have you ever thought to yourself: I should develop this product, it’s a great idea! Or is it? Wait… what does it have to do with the business? Who’s it for? Do we want them as our customers? Do they even care about this product? That cycle happens time and time again if you don’t understand your WHY.

Understanding your WHY.

This is your business’s purpose — the reason it even exists. Have you ever considered that? You need to. Now! Before it’s too late. And don’t just scratch the surface — really get to the bottom of it.

When we develop a mission statement for our Do-Gooders, we ask “WHY?” until we can’t ask any more. That’s what we did in our own rebrand.

Why does Sunday Roast exist? To design great brands and websites. Why? Why? Why? Why? To help ‘do-gooders’ connect their purpose with their audiences and make a meaningful difference in the world.

Oh, so it was about more than great design — we actually wanted to spark joy and happiness in our own lives by collaborating with other cool people to make the world better. Now that’s powerful!

Understanding your WHO.

These are your champions — your superfans. The people who want to be involved in your work and you want to be involved in theirs. We’re trying to find that magnetism.

When we develop personas for our Do-Gooders we try to find as much demographic and psychographic information as we can on the clients that our brands want to be working with. How old are they? Where do they live? What do they do for work? What are their interests? Where do they look when making buying decisions? It all matters to create that magnetism.

We’ve called our persona group: Do-Gooders. Simply put, “A change-maker whose mission is to make a positive impact on this world.” We’ll spare you the other details, but these are the thought-partners we want to work with!

Understanding your WHERE.

With WHY and WHO answered it’s time to sort out WHERE you fit in the marketplace. How are you different or how can you differentiate from the competition? This is such an important piece in driving marketing copy and communicating your value in the shortest message possible — whether it’s marketing copy or the visuals of the brand. This is where the WHY AND WHO intersect and create a real meaningful brand.

WHERE does Sunday Roast fit? How are we different? In a nutshell, we take the traditionally time-consuming and belaboured process of brand development and web design and make it streamlined, efficient and painless so do-gooders have more time to do more good.

These values are something we weaved through the name, our brand identity, our website, everything! We went full transformation to be able to adjust and reach those that we truly want to work with so that we can live our passion and provide some incredible impact to the world along the way — and we hope to do the same for you!

Welcome to Sunday Roast!

We can’t wait to meet you, get to know you, work with you, and help you do some good with a brand strategy, visual identity, website and more!
